As a Chemical Oceanographer Marta’s usual work deals with maintaining high quality ship-based time series on inorganic biogeochemistry, mainly focused on the assessment of biogeochemical changes in water masses and their drivers. Within the EuroGO-SHIP project, Marta is helping to define a new framework to improve the secondary quality control procedure used to compare data from different cruises and to check their inter-comparability. She is also interested in Work Package 3, contributing to case studies focused on improving salinity, inorganic nutrients and inorganic carbon analysis. Marta is a Research Scientist at IEO-CSIC, where she tries hard to foster and underpin capabilities in inorganic chemical Oceanography within the IEO observing system.
