Carolina is a chemical Oceanographer and currently a research scientist at the Institute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR). Her research focuses on the inorganic carbon dynamics and carbon biogeochemistry, in open sea and coastal areas, both in the Mediterranean and Arctic regions. She is actively involved in the ICOS-RI “Integrated Carbon Observing System” as co-chair of the marine ICOS stations and in the development of the JERICO-RI: an integrated multi platform RI dedicated to a holistic appraisal of coastal marine system changes. For EuroGO-SHIP, Carolina is helping to set up services and RI design to pilot cruises and method standardization with a focus on the Mediterranean region.
