Garvan is a Chemical Oceanographer/Analytical chemist with 20 years’ experience of carrying out analysis of essential Ocean variables both at sea and in the laboratory. His primary focus is on dissolved nutrients analysis of coastal and open Ocean samples, and his recent area of interest is expanding the Marine Institute’s analytical capacity to include the measurement of carbonate parameters. Garvan is involved in establishing the Marine Institute as a reference laboratory for the analysis of essential ocean variables.
