Houda is a postdoctoral researcher at Geophysical Institut at University of Bergen and part of the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, Norway. As biogeochemical oceanographer here main research interest has been understanding the reciprocal relationship between the cycling of resources in the ocean and the biological activity. She holds a PhD in physical and environmental oceanography (Université de Bretagne Occidentale, France) addressing the importance of iron source and form in influencing phytoplankton distribution using 3D numerical modeling. She then investigated the potential effects of ocean worldwide applied artificial reoxygenation on marine biogeochemical cycles. Within the EuroGO-SHIP project, she is involved in WP4 which aims to evaluate improvements in the detection of eutrophication and acidification.
