Tobias works as a chemical oceanographer at GEOMAR in Germany and a senior engineer at NORCE in Norway. At his job at GEOMAR, his research focuses on carbon and oxygen dynamics in the North Atlantic Ocean. He is specialized in the measurements of marine carbon parameters. He is operating measurements onboard a merchant vessel crossing the North Atlantic Ocean and in the last years his interest is also driven towards biogeochemical Argo floats. The position at NORCE in Norway is within the Ocean Thematic Centre (OTC) of the European infrastructure “Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS)”. His role at OTC is to support ICOS marine stations (ship lines, buoys,…) so that they can deliver the best possible carbon measurements.
